Just a bunch of notes about various items - no real theme for tonights update. Updated a bunch of back-end stuff on my server tonight - boy is that always fun :) You never know what will refuse to start after you stop-start them. I really need to run one of the many host ping utilities on my own server - I manage/run them for other servers and hosts but not on my own! Seems that certain services never want to auto-start when the people that host my server decide it’s time to restart the box my UML runs on. One thing I have noticed is that I have a bunch of friends who live in the southern hemisphere. Why am I noticing this now? Because for them it’s approaching colder weather so they are inside more often and their activity seems to be ramping up just as I start having to do more chores/activities at home away from the computers. Found out that Micah is in the running for an Infoworld award/honor – woohoo and congrats! The clematis that we moved into a cold frame over the winter has really kicked into high gear with all the rain and sun it has received – it has grown 8 inches in a week. Guess I know what I’m doing Saturday: digging a whole near the fence post lainens has picked for it.
