how many os's is too many?

I routinely use Win2k, WinXP, Debian and FreeBSD at home so why in the heck would I even consider getting a Mac? Well, because with OS/X it stands a chance of being useful to me :) In the past I’ve never been able to justify getting one - but that has changed. So this afternoon I spent some time with a local Apple dude and scoped out the differences between iBooks and Powerbooks, Super and Combo drives, memory needs , battery life, ports and all those things that matter to a geek like me. oh and cost - yikes! I decided on this combination: 15in Powerbook 512mb upgrade Airport Extreme Card Apple Care the 17in was an amazing screen size but I couldn’t see getting it for the price bump that it had, Especially when he pointed out that the Powerbook series can use external monitors to expand the desktop space. Now to go run this by the boss :)
