While we were guests in the house taking care of Elaine’s dad, we always defered to him for anything done to the house so basically nothing except emergency maintenance was ever done. After some time had passed since his death, Elaine and I finally got past the guilt (long story) and decided to start on the outside of the house.
This is what it looked like when Google StreetView came thru a couple year ago:
