The XMPP Foundation just finished the annual Board and Council Election Meeting where a normally simple “here’s the results, yea us!” event turned into quite a lively discussion about voting methods and bylaws and rules-of-procedure – which to an infrastructure/community wonk like myself was very interesting :) because of a tie in the Board voting for the last slot. All in all it was handled very well, with excited but polite discussion on various methods to solve the issue.

It would have been even more exciting except I found out the hard way that my membership had lapsed because I had not voted in any of the prior meetings - doh! So count that as a personal preparedness #FAIL

So yea, next application period I’m going to work at getting back onto the member rolls.
