WWDC 2007 - Back To The Mac

aka apple in ur netz pwning ur firewall I see in the new .Mac feature that your Mac will now sync it’s IP info to your .Mac account to allow you access to any of your computers at any time - inside the local net or not. Nice feature and what most of us have been using remote control, VNC, SSH, whatever for a while now.

This seems to basically tunnel the various sharing protocols via the .Mac link - and that’s my main concern. How exactly does it do this? I don’t see Apple requiring people to be aware of their firewall to setup tunnels so it must be using the .Mac service as a proxy.

I’ll be curious to see what port they are using to do this proxy/tunnel and also curious to see what kind of security it requires.
