Gaboogie conference calling

I was working with Chris Pirillo earlier (I help him with bots (jabber and irc)) when he wanted to test a new conference calling service: Gaboogie

From their site:

What is Gaboogie? Simply put, Gaboogie is the replacement for conference calls. We decided it was time to update a broken, outdated and frustrating experience: Gaboogie is the result! How is Gaboogie different? Gaboogie doesn’t require you to remember dial-in numbers or PINs, create a corporate account or do anything that’s inconvenient or time-consuming. You can book your conference call online in minutes and at the scheduled time Gaboogie automatically calls you and your attendees and creates the conference.

The audio quality was very good and connecting to the call was very simple but that’s not the best part at all. The moderator can actually instruct Gaboogie to dial out to the people listed for the call and it will try up to 3 numbers for each person in order twice. Very nice!

While we were testing the founders actually joined the call, Erik and I think Dan, and they walked Chris and us thru all of the major features, listened politely as Chris took off on one of his sermons ;) and then sat and responded to different questions from myself and Chris.

All in all I’m very impressed and I am liking the new take on bringing the conference call into the Web 2.0 world. Now to see what kind of API they have ….

Note - this isn’t a tech review at all - just my initial impression of the service :)
