looking ahead
With the new year having started and me coming off of a nice restful (and pleasantly boring) holiday - it’s time to think ahead to what can be done this year.
Chandler - with Chandler 0.6 released, a lot of things can start rolling again and I can start making some build system improvements. We will be upgrading different back-end systems like bugzilla, tinderbox and bonsai.
Tinderbox2 - I continue to fix bugs and add SVN support code. More people are sending me emails asking for the code so it’s time to post the patches to the Mozilla bug database and get reviews :)
Bonsai - I’m finding it kinda exciting to be getting requests for the work I’ve done in making Bonsai SVN aware. Now what that means is I need to finish the work and get reviews for it so I can push it into the Mozilla code base.
Jabber - A couple things/events have allowed me to dip my toe back into the world of Jabber and I’m finding it to be just as fun/frustrating as it was when I first “discovered” Jabber. Back then I was coding in Delphi and the Jabber library support was very sparse, but now that I’m hip-deep in Python that has changed for the better. The frustrating part is the normal issues surrounding Open Source libraries: the mix-n-match of features supported by the different libraries.
So, here’s to a new year and more fun to be had :)
