my name is bear ...

… and I love doing builds. Why I have no idea but I just enjoy setting up environments, scripts and all the details that go into making automated builds happen. At last count I’m now helping with three projects doing builds: “WorldForge":http://www.worldforge.org “OSAF":http://osafoundation.org and “Twisted":http://twistedmatrix.org The really odd thing is that each project uses different build techniques and that is part of the draw for me. WorldForge uses a custom script written in OCaml for some and shell scripts for others, OSAF uses a custom Python script run by “Tinderbox":http://www.mozilla.org/tinderbox.html and Twisted uses “BuildBot":http://buildbot.sourceforge.net/ For Twisted I heard the other night that they needed a Win32 build and as it happens I have a Win2k box in the basement that has recently become idle :) – after a couple hours following some great instructions by MFen the buildbot was up and running. Now there is just tweaking.
